Managing marketing emails and notifications

To manage your marketing email preferences on Eflexsim, sign in and go to Account โ†’ Preferences (or Settings โ†’ Notifications). Toggle each category on or off independently: promotional emails, trip-recap and tips, product updates, partner offers. You can also unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of any marketing email we send. Transactional emails (order confirmations, receipts, data alerts, eSIM delivery, refund updates) always send regardless of marketing settings because they're required for the service to work.

Transactional vs marketing: the key distinction

Two types of emails come from Eflexsim:

Transactional emails are tied to specific actions you took or eSIMs you have:

  • Order confirmation after a purchase.
  • eSIM delivery with the QR code.
  • Receipt or invoice.
  • "Your data is running low" alerts.
  • "Your plan expires soon" reminders.
  • Refund confirmations.
  • Security alerts (new login, password changed, email changed).
  • Password reset links.

These always send. You can't opt out because they're required for the service to work. If you don't want them, you can't really have an Eflexsim account.

Marketing emails are optional and we send only with your permission:

  • Promotional discounts and offers.
  • New country plan launches.
  • Travel tips and destination guides.
  • Partner promotions.
  • Annual recaps and travel summaries.
  • Survey requests.

You control whether you get these. Default at signup is opt-in for the main promotional category; other categories may be opt-in by default or opt-out depending on the type.

How to update your preferences

Two paths to change settings:

Path 1: From your account.

  1. Sign in at eflexsim.com.
  2. Go to Account โ†’ Preferences or Settings โ†’ Notifications.
  3. You'll see a list of email categories with toggles next to each.
  4. Toggle each category on or off as you prefer.
  5. Click Save if there's a save button (some pages auto-save on toggle).

Path 2: From a marketing email.

Every marketing email has an Unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it to either:

  • Unsubscribe from that specific category.
  • Or be taken to your full preferences page where you can adjust everything.

The unsubscribe link is a one-click opt-out for the specific category. It takes effect immediately.

What you'll see in preferences

Typical categories you can toggle independently:

Promotional offers: discount codes, sales, plan launches. The main "marketing" category.

Travel tips and destination guides: content emails about specific countries, tips for trip planning, eSIM education. Less promotional, more editorial.

Trip recap: a summary email after each trip showing how much data you used, where you were, etc.

Partner offers: occasional offers from travel-related partners (hotels, flight deals, etc.). Default off for most accounts.

Newsletter: monthly roundup of company news, new features, etc.

Product surveys: occasional requests for feedback. Helpful for us; you can opt out.

Each is independent. You can be in for travel tips but out for promotional offers, etc.

Push notifications (mobile app)

The Eflexsim mobile app supports push notifications in addition to email. Categories include:

  • Data running low alerts.
  • Plan expiring soon.
  • Order delivered.
  • Promotional notifications.
  • Travel reminders.

Each can be toggled in the app settings or on the web preferences page; settings sync between web and mobile.

If you only use the web account, all notifications come via email instead of push.

How to fully unsubscribe from everything marketing

The fast path:

  1. Open any marketing email from Eflexsim.
  2. Click Unsubscribe at the bottom.
  3. On the unsubscribe page, click Unsubscribe from all marketing.

This turns off every marketing category at once. Transactional emails (the required ones) keep coming.

You can also do this from the preferences page in your account by toggling all marketing categories off.

What you keep receiving even after opting out

Even if you turn off everything marketing-related, the following still send:

  • Order confirmations.
  • eSIM delivery.
  • Receipts.
  • Data alerts and plan expiry reminders.
  • Refund and chargeback notifications.
  • Security alerts.
  • Account changes (email change, password reset, etc.).

These aren't optional because they relate to actions you took or your account's state. They're the same emails any e-commerce service has to send.

Why we send marketing emails by default

When you sign up or buy as a guest, the default opt-in is usually for the main promotional category (with clear disclosure at the checkout or signup page). This is consistent with most e-commerce sites globally.

The rationale: most travelers want to know about plan deals for future trips. The opt-out is one click via the email itself, so the burden of staying opted in is low.

If you'd rather not be opted in by default, you can untick the box at signup or checkout when you see it.

Frequency expectations

A rough sense of how often marketing emails come:

  • Promotional offers: 1-3 emails per month typically. More during major travel seasons (summer, holidays).
  • Travel tips: 1-2 per month.
  • Trip recap: only after a trip, so frequency matches your travel.
  • Newsletter: 1 per month if you're subscribed.

We try to keep marketing email volume reasonable. If something feels excessive, that's feedback worth us hearing; email support@eflexsim.com.

GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations

Eflexsim complies with major privacy regulations:

  • GDPR (EU/UK): opt-in required for marketing; right to access and delete data.
  • CCPA (California): disclosure and opt-out rights.
  • Other regional laws: we follow the strictest applicable standard.

Your right to opt out is honored everywhere, regardless of which regulation technically applies to you.

Frequently asked questions

QI unsubscribed but still got an email. Why?

Unsubscribes can take up to 24 hours to propagate through email systems. If you're still getting marketing emails after 24 hours, email support@eflexsim.com.

QCan I unsubscribe from a single email category but stay subscribed to others?

Yes. Each category is independent. The preferences page or the unsubscribe link gives per-category control.

QWill I miss out on important offers if I unsubscribe?

You won't see promotional codes via email. You can still check the website periodically for deals or subscribe back at any time.

QCan I subscribe to just the newsletter and nothing else?

Yes. Toggle the newsletter on and everything else off.

QDoes the marketing opt-out affect my data alerts?

No. Data alerts are transactional and always send. They're not affected by marketing preferences.

QHow long are my preferences stored?

As long as your account is active. Preferences move with you if you change email or update other account details.
