02What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (your computer, tablet, or smartphone) at the request of websites or apps that you use. They can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by another organisation, for example an embedded service (third-party cookies). Cookies can also be classified as essential (strictly necessary for the site to work) or non-essential (used for analytics, advertising, personalisation, and so on).
Similar technologies — such as web beacons, tracking pixels, and clear GIFs — are sometimes used alongside cookies to help websites understand how they are being used. We refer to all of these together as "cookies" in this policy.
03Cookies We Use Today
Today, Eflexsim sets only essential cookies — the ones strictly necessary for our site and app to function. We do not set marketing or analytics cookies that require your consent. We do not currently operate a "Manage Cookies" preference centre, because we have no non-essential cookies to manage.
The essential cookies we set include:
- Authentication session cookies. Set by our authentication provider (Supabase) to keep you signed in across pages. Required if you have an Eflexsim account.
- Cart and checkout cookies. Used to keep track of the items in your cart and the state of your checkout flow between pages. Required to complete a purchase.
- Security and CSRF cookies. Used to protect you against cross-site request forgery and similar attacks. Required for any form submission.
04Third-Party Services That May Set Cookies
When you complete a purchase or interact with certain features of our Platform, third-party services may set their own cookies. These services have their own privacy and cookie policies.
- Stripe — sets cookies during checkout to process your payment securely. See Stripe's cookie policy at stripe.com/cookie-settings.
- Vercel — our hosting provider, may set cookies for performance and security purposes.
- Sentry — our error monitoring provider, may set a cookie to associate error reports with a session for debugging.
We do not control the cookies set by these services. Where you have a choice about whether they are set (typically because we have offered a banner or preference centre), we will respect your choice.
05How to Manage Cookies
You can always control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies altogether, refuse cookies from specific sites, or notify you whenever a website tries to set or update a cookie. The "Help" function of your browser explains how. If you use multiple devices, you may need to update the settings on each one.
If you block all cookies, parts of our Platform may not work as intended — for example, you may not be able to sign in or complete a purchase.
06When This Policy Will Change
We will update this Cookie Policy when we introduce additional non-essential cookies (for example, analytics or advertising cookies). When we do that, we will:
- Add the new categories of cookies to this policy with a description of what each one does.
- Add a cookie consent banner to our website where required by law (for example for visitors in the EU, EEA, and UK).
- Provide a "Manage Cookies" preference centre so you can opt in or out of non-essential categories.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy will reflect any changes.
