How to delete your Eflexsim account

3 min readUpdated May 11, 2026Verified

To delete your Eflexsim account, sign in, go to Account โ†’ Settings โ†’ Delete account, confirm with your password, and submit. We send a confirmation email and the deletion is final 30 days later. During the 30-day window you can cancel the deletion by signing back in. After 30 days, your profile, saved cards, marketing preferences, and any unused wallet credit are permanently removed. We retain anonymized order records for legal and financial recordkeeping requirements that apply to us as a business.

Below: the deletion flow, what data is removed vs kept, what happens to active eSIMs, and how to cancel the deletion.

Before you delete

A few things to handle first:

1. Use any unused wallet credit. Credit is forfeited at deletion. If you have a balance, buy something with it or transfer the value to a planned future trip before deletion. See using account credit and wallet balance.

2. Save any receipts you'll need. After deletion, you won't be able to download past receipts from your account. Download what you need for expense filing or records first. See how to download an invoice or receipt.

3. Check active eSIMs. If you have a plan currently working in your phone, deleting the account doesn't immediately stop the eSIM (the partner network sees it as provisioned). But you'll lose the ability to top up the eSIM, get the QR code if you need to reinstall, or contact support about that specific order via the account. Most travelers wait until their active eSIM expires before deleting.

4. Cancel any pending refunds. Refunds in flight at the time of deletion are still processed to the original card, but tracking them gets harder without account access. If you have a refund pending, wait for it to complete first.

The deletion flow

Once you're ready:

  1. Sign in at eflexsim.com with your account.
  2. Go to Account โ†’ Settings (or Account โ†’ Profile โ†’ Settings).
  3. Click Delete account at the bottom of the page.
  4. Read the warning about what gets deleted and what's retained.
  5. Confirm with your password.
  6. Optionally tell us why you're leaving (helps us improve).
  7. Click Submit deletion request.

You'll see a confirmation message: "Account scheduled for deletion. Final removal in 30 days."

We also send a confirmation email to your account address. The email contains a link to cancel the deletion if you change your mind.

The 30-day grace period

After you submit deletion, the account enters a 30-day pending-deletion state:

  • You can still sign in during this period. Signing in cancels the deletion automatically (we assume you changed your mind).
  • You can't make new purchases during pending-deletion (prevents loss of unused plans).
  • Active eSIMs keep working through this period; they're tied to the partner network, not our account database.
  • Marketing emails stop immediately. Transactional emails for active eSIMs continue.

The 30-day window protects against accidental deletion. If you deleted the account by mistake or got hacked, you have a month to reverse it.

After 30 days โ€” what's permanently removed

After the grace period:

  • Email and password. Removed. The email is freed up for use on a new account if you want to start over.
  • Name, profile details, preferences. Removed.
  • Saved cards. The Stripe tokens we held are deleted, so we can't charge the card again.
  • Wallet credit. Forfeited (any unused balance is gone).
  • Order history visible to you. No longer accessible through any account UI.
  • 2FA secrets. Removed.
  • Account-tied referral data. Anonymized (your referral credit history is wiped, but credits already given to friends stay with them).

After 30 days โ€” what's retained

What we keep, even after full deletion:

  • Anonymized order records. Required for financial recordkeeping, tax compliance, and chargeback dispute resolution. These are stripped of identifying information beyond what's legally required (e.g., we retain "an order for $10 USD was completed on 2026-04-15 for a Japan plan" but not the email or full payment details).

  • Refund and chargeback records. Required to defend against fraud or disputes that come up after the fact.

  • Compliance and security logs. Sign-in events, security incidents, and abuse-prevention records, retained per our security policy.

We retain the minimum required by law and standard practice; nothing more.

Cancel a deletion in progress

If you change your mind during the 30-day window:

  • Sign in with your account. Signing in automatically cancels the pending deletion.
  • Or click the cancel link in the deletion confirmation email.
  • Account returns to normal state immediately.

After the 30-day window, deletion is final and not reversible. If you want to use Eflexsim again, sign up with a new account (or the same email if we've freed it up).

Active eSIMs after deletion

A working question: what happens to an eSIM you're currently using when the account deletes?

  • During the 30-day grace period: Nothing changes. The eSIM works normally and you can still sign in to manage it.
  • After deletion: The eSIM continues working until the plan's validity expires. The partner network has the eSIM provisioned, and we don't actively deprovision it. But you lose the ability to top up the plan, get a fresh copy of the QR, or contact support about that specific order.

If you have an active eSIM with significant validity remaining, consider waiting until it expires before requesting account deletion.

Why we have a 30-day grace period

A few reasons:

  • Mistakes happen. Accidental clicks, family member confusion, "I'll delete to fix a bug" attempts.
  • Hacked accounts. If someone gains access to your account and tries to nuke it, the 30-day window gives you time to detect and reverse.
  • Refunds in flight. Pending refunds need an active account to land safely.
  • Active eSIMs. Travelers shouldn't accidentally lose access to their working data plan.

Frequently asked questions

QIs there a way to delete immediately without the 30-day wait?

Generally no. The grace period is there for your protection. In specific compliance-driven cases (data subject deletion requests under GDPR, etc.), email support@eflexsim.com with the legal basis. We have an expedited path for those.

QWill my email be reusable after deletion?

Yes, after the 30-day window completes. You can sign up again with the same email.

QWill my data be sent to anyone after deletion?

No. Deletion means deletion. We don't transfer your data to other services or to anyone outside Eflexsim.

QWhat if I bought as a guest? Do I have anything to delete?

Guest checkouts don't create an account, so there's nothing to "delete" account-wise. Your email address is in our order records, and you can request data deletion (right to be forgotten) by emailing support@eflexsim.com.

QCan I download my data before deleting?

Yes. Email support@eflexsim.com to request a data export. We provide a JSON or CSV with all the data we hold on your account.

QDoes deleting my account refund unused eSIMs?

No. Deletion doesn't trigger refunds. If you want refunds on unused plans, request those first (within the 14-day window for unactivated plans). See refund policy.

For account recovery instead, see lost access to your email. For wallet credit, see using account credit and wallet balance. For data exports or compliance requests, email support@eflexsim.com.
